Compare the Bekkers yachts
The Bekkers range has three aluminium yachts: the AZUR 45HT hardtop weekender (13.5 m, from EUR 1,359,500 excl. VAT and engines), the Beachclub 40 day yacht (from EUR 998,000 excl. VAT and engines) and the 18.7 m Carib 64HT flagship, priced on request. The 45s suit couples and small groups who want speed and short weekends away. The Carib 64HT suits families who want three cabins and longer stays aboard.
All three are built in aluminium by hand at the yard in Heusden, on the river Maas. There is no mass production and no fibreglass hull. Each yacht is finished to the standards Leon Bekkers learned as a supplier of stainless steel work to leading Dutch and German superyacht builders. This page sets out the known specifications side by side, then explains which model tends to fit which owner.

Which Bekkers yacht fits whom?
AZUR 45HT: the all-weather weekender
The AZUR 45HT is the most complete 45-footer in the range. The aluminium hardtop gives shade and shelter, and can be specified with a panoramic sliding roof, Bowers & Wilkins speakers and LED ceiling strips. Below deck there are two cabins, one bathroom with a separate shower cabin, and 2 m of standing headroom. With twin IPS engines it reaches 30+ knots, and the shallow 0.79 m draught opens up anchorages that deeper boats cannot reach.
It fits owners who want to leave on a Friday and come back on a Sunday. It also suits cooler or changeable climates, where a fixed roof extends the season. Motor Boat & Yachting described its fit and finish as exceptional for a 45-footer, noting the absence of visible weld marks.
Beachclub 40: the day yacht built around the water
The Beachclub 40 is an aluminium day yacht with optional beach club wings. These fold out to create a terrace at water level. It is designed for swimming, lunch at anchor and time on the water rather than long passages. The base price of EUR 998,000 excludes VAT and engines, because the propulsion choice is still open: inboard Volvo Penta IPS or an outboard option with the Mercury V12-600. Our article on outboard vs inboard yachts explains the trade-offs.
It fits owners who use a yacht mainly by day, and those looking for a high-end tender or chase boat for a larger yacht.
Carib 64HT: the family flagship
The Carib 64HT is the largest Bekkers yacht and is currently in build. At 18.7 m with a 5.4 m beam, it has three large cabins, three bathrooms and 2 m headroom. A walk-around hardtop makes moving around the deck easy. A luxurious outdoor galley keeps the cooking on deck with the guests. Volvo Penta D13 engines give a speed of 25 knots, and the 3,825 l fuel capacity supports longer trips.
It fits families and owners who regularly host guests overnight, and who want superyacht detailing in a yacht of this size.

How to choose
Start with how you will use the yacht. Mostly day trips in warm weather point to the Beachclub 40. Regular weekends, including in mixed weather, point to the AZUR 45HT. Overnight stays with family or several guests point to the Carib 64HT.
Then think about where you keep it. Draught, beam and length all affect which berths and harbours you can use. The AZUR 45 draws just 0.79 m, which helps on rivers, lakes and shallow bays.
Finally, consider budget and specification together. Prices shown are starting prices. The final figure depends on engines, hardtop options, finishes and paint. Our prices page explains how a quote is built.
The most reliable way to decide is a sea trial. You can test the yachts at the yard in Heusden.
