Request a sea trial or yard visit
You can request a sea trial or a yard visit with Bekkers Yachts at the yard in Heusden in the south of the Netherlands. Send a request through the form, by phone or on WhatsApp, and the yard will reply personally within one working day. Together we then agree on a date, a location and the yacht you would like to experience.
Why a sea trial matters
A brochure can describe a hull. It cannot tell you how it feels at 25 knots in a short chop, how quiet the saloon is at cruising speed, or how the helm responds when you turn hard. Our yachts are built from aluminium, by hand, to superyacht standards. Much of that is best understood on the water and in the workshop, where you can see the welds, the stainless steel work and the joinery before the paint goes on.
A sea trial is also the moment to ask detailed questions. Engine choice, layout, paint to sample, hardtop options: it is easier to decide when you have stood at the helm yourself.
Where you can test a Bekkers yacht
| Location | What to expect | How to arrange |
|---|---|---|
| Heusden, the Netherlands (yard) | Sea trial on the river Maas and a tour of the yard | Contact the yard directly |
At the yard in Heusden
The yard sits at Industrieweg 12B in Heusden, in the village of Heusden, right on the river Maas. A visit here combines two things. You go out on the water, and you walk through the workshop where every Bekkers yacht is built. You can see aluminium hulls at different stages, meet the people who build them and look at material and colour samples.
For many owners, this is the most useful visit of all. It shows how a yacht is put together, not just how it looks when it is finished.
In Miami and Florida
Sea trials can be arranged with them in Florida, typically in Biscayne Bay. See Bekkers Yachts in the Americas for more.
In the Mediterranean
We work with partners in Spain (Mallorca), Greece and Croatia. The yard will put you in touch with the partner nearest to you and confirm which yacht is available for a trial. See Bekkers Yachts in the Mediterranean.
What happens on the day
Every visit is personal, so the programme follows your questions. A typical day at the yard looks like this.
- 01Welcome and introduction. We start with coffee and a short conversation about how you plan to use the yacht: day trips, weekends aboard, family use, or as a chase tender to a larger yacht.
- 02Walk around the yacht. Before you board, we show you the details that matter: the hard chine aluminium hull, the stainless steel fittings, the deck, the outdoor galley and the hardtop.
- 03On the water. You take the helm. We run through handling at low speed, manoeuvring with the Volvo Penta IPS drives on the AZUR 45, and a run at cruising and top speed where conditions allow.
- 04Yard tour. Back at the yard, you see yachts in build and talk with the team about construction, finish and options.
- 05Configuration and next steps. If you wish, we sit down with samples and the configurator to talk through engines, colours and interior materials.
We agree the length of the visit and the yacht you will see when we confirm your booking.
What to bring
Comfortable shoes with non-marking soles, a light jacket (it is cooler on the water) and sunglasses. If you would like to bring family members or your captain, please mention this when you book.

Frequently asked questions
Where can I do a sea trial with Bekkers Yachts?
At the yard in Heusden in the Netherlands, on the river Maas. Tell us where you are and we will suggest the most practical option.
How quickly will I hear back after I request a sea trial?
The yard replies personally within one working day. We then agree on a date, location and model with you.
Is there a cost for a sea trial?
Please ask when you book. We will explain how it works for your location, including any conditions.
Can I visit the yard without doing a sea trial?
Yes. A yard visit on its own is a good way to see how the yachts are built, look at materials and colour samples and meet the team. Just let us know when you get in touch.
Can I bring my captain or family?
Yes, and we encourage it. Please tell us how many people will join so we can plan the day and the time on the water.
Which yacht will I be able to test?
That depends on the location and on which yachts are available at the time. We will confirm this when we reply to your request.
