Three days is the perfect length for a 45 ft weekender. It gives you two nights aboard, time to swim and eat well, and enough range to see more than one bay. Here is how a long weekend around southwest Mallorca could look on the AZUR 45HT, with its two cabins, outdoor galley and electric swim ladder.
This is a sample route, not a fixed plan. Weather, local rules and your own pace decide the day. Always check the forecast and current regulations before you leave.
Why a weekender, not a day yacht?
A day yacht takes you out and brings you home. A weekender lets you stay. On the AZUR 45HT that comes down to a few practical things: two cabins and 2 m of standing headroom below, a bathroom with a separate shower cabin, a full-size outdoor shower, and an outdoor galley with coolers, an icemaker, a BBQ grill and an induction cooker. You can provision once and live aboard for the weekend. For more on the difference, read day cruiser vs weekender.
Day 1: Palma to the southwest coves
Morning: leave Palma
Most weekends start in or near Palma, where provisioning is easy. Load the coolers, fill the icemaker and stow bags in the cabins. Low noise levels on board make the run out of the bay calm, even at speed.
Midday: anchor in a quiet cove
Head west along the coast towards the coves around Portals Vells and Cap de Cala Figuera. The shallow draught of 0.79 m lets you choose your spot with some freedom, but in the Balearics anchoring on Posidonia seagrass is prohibited. Look for sand, or use mooring buoys where they are provided.
Unfold the dining table in the shaded lounge and set up lunch from the outdoor galley. The electric sun awning adds shade aft when the sun gets high.
Afternoon and evening
Swim from the electric ladder, then rinse off under the outdoor shower. Spend the late afternoon on the bow sun bed. For the night, choose a sheltered anchorage or book a marina berth along the coast. Dinner on the BBQ grill, with dimmable LED lighting on deck once the light fades.
Day 2: Andratx and Sa Dragonera
Morning: coffee at anchor
A slow start. Coffee from the galley, a swim before breakfast. This is what the two cabins are for: everyone wakes up rested, without a rush to get back to port.
Late morning: Port d'Andratx
Cruise on to Port d'Andratx, one of the most attractive harbours on the island. It is a good stop for a walk, a coffee ashore or fresh provisions.
Afternoon: along Sa Dragonera
Continue to the island of Sa Dragonera, a protected natural park off the western tip of Mallorca. The cliffs and clear water make this one of the most scenic stretches of the island's coast. Respect the park rules on anchoring and landing.
If the panoramic sliding roof is specified in the hardtop, open it on the way back for light and air at the helm. Spend the night at anchor in a sheltered bay, or in a marina if the wind picks up.
Day 3: the run south and back to Palma
Morning: the open water
With CE category B certification, the AZUR 45HT is built for offshore conditions within its category. On a settled day, the final morning is a good moment to enjoy the hull on open water. With Volvo Penta IPS engines, the yacht reaches 30+ knots depending on the engine choice.
Option: towards Es Trenc or Cabrera
With a full day and a good forecast, some crews head southeast towards the long beaches near Es Trenc, or further to the Cabrera archipelago, a national park. Cabrera has strict rules: navigation and the use of mooring buoys require a permit that is typically booked in advance through the Balearic authorities. Check the current requirements before you go.
Afternoon: lunch and home
One last lunch at anchor, a final swim, and an easy cruise back to Palma in the late afternoon.

Practical notes
- Fuel and water. The AZUR 45HT carries 1,240 litres of fuel and 278 litres of fresh water, with a 165 litre black water tank. On a three-day trip, plan water use and a pump-out where needed.
- Local rules. Anchoring, protected areas and black water discharge are regulated in the Balearics. Rules change, so check them before you leave.
- Berths. In summer, marina berths in popular harbours are often booked ahead.
- The same weekend elsewhere. The route works in a similar way on the Côte d'Azur, in Croatia or in Greece. See our guide to the best cruising grounds for a day yacht.
Try it yourself
The best way to judge a weekender is to spend time aboard. Sea trials are possible at the yard in Heusden, the Netherlands. The Bekkers team was also at the Cannes Yachting Festival on 10 and 11 September 2026 for private meetings.
Frequently asked questions
How many people can sleep on the AZUR 45HT?
The AZUR 45HT has two cabins and one bathroom with a shower cabin, toilet and washbasin, with 2 m standing headroom. The yard can confirm the berth layout and interior options for your build.
Is three days enough for a trip around Mallorca?
Three days is enough for one coastline, such as the southwest from Palma to Sa Dragonera, at a relaxed pace. A full circumnavigation is better kept for a longer trip.
Can I anchor anywhere in Mallorca?
No. Anchoring on Posidonia seagrass is prohibited in the Balearics, and protected areas such as Cabrera have their own rules. Use sand patches or official mooring buoys and check current regulations.
Can I cook a full meal on board?
Yes. The outdoor galley has coolers, an icemaker, a BBQ grill and an induction cooker, next to the shaded lounge with its foldable dining table.
Where can I try the AZUR 45HT in the Mediterranean?
Sea trials can be arranged at the yard in Heusden. Contact the yard to plan one.
