The AZUR 45 is built in aluminium by hand at the yard in Heusden, on the river Maas. There is no mould and no fibreglass hull. The hard chine hull is certified CE / RCD category B, which typically covers offshore use in winds up to force 8 and significant wave heights up to 4 m.
Hull engineering is by Navyk. Exterior design is by René van der Velden, a superyacht designer. Founder Leon Bekkers built his reputation supplying stainless steel work to leading superyacht builders in the Netherlands and Germany, and the detailing shows it. In its first look at the yacht, Motor Boat & Yachting called the fit and finish exceptional for a 45-footer and noted that there were no visible weld marks.
